say what!?

... YES, you can wear two cardigans at once. and YES, when you have never worn lipstick before, you can still do it, but feel extremely awkward in public. however, because your blogger family member and name sharer maggie wears it so flawlessly, you feel the least bit confident that maybe you can rock it, too. the compliments from strangers help. YES, you can wear only black and gray when 93.6% of your closet is brightly colored (although that number diminishes every single week.) YES, you can take pictures at 3:42pm when the sun is supposed to set at 4:01pm. and YES, you can take pictures in the middle of a snow storm without damaging your camera/lens while still achieving well exposed pictures. YES YES YES!

i'm telling you, this blog is slowly turning into a list of things I learn every post. maybe this really will become a thing on my blog.

i'm one of those people that goes and goes and goes until the batteries in my energizer bunny self start to wane. and even as i notice my energy depleting and body begging me to stop, i usually ignore it and continue. until one morning, of course, the night after a slumber party with your favorite sister duo despite knowing i shouldn't stay up late and i would seriously threaten my health the next morning, i wake up with a sore throat. and the next day, a head so stuffed with goop and slimy stuff, it feels like it weighs two hundred pounds. so for the last four days i've been forcing myself to rest (not easy). thankfully kitten videos on youtube make it better (this and this are two of my favorites) and an excuse to finish american horror story and start freaks and geeks. but of course, i could not be tamed for long indoors and took a quick adventure to get tea with one of my best friends and take pictures outside without a coat on. i know, i know, the logic makes so much sense. none of my complains are valid now.

there are a few things i always forget when i come home. the first being how small my hometown is and forgetting that if you go to safeway unshowered in your sweats to get more medicine, you will run into your old preschool teacher, your ex's new wife, and the last person you wanted to run into looking the way you feel on the inside with a cold. secondly, i always forget how perfect the palouse is and how scenic everything is no matter what season it is. the difference between taking blog pictures in montana and idaho is immeasurable.

The colors in these photos are absolutely gorgeous. I wish that we could have those blue, snowy days here, but Lubbock is literally just brown all the time.

Love the lipstick! It looks so good.

Eeeeep these photos are the CUTEST! I dream of taking pictures in a snowstorm, but am I always (ALWAYS) worried about my lens. Do you do anything to protect yours or just hope for the best? Anyway, I would love to see a "things maggie learns" whenever you care to post it. :]]]

Whoa whoa whoa. Ex's new wife? Well then.

These are such gorgeous photos! I love the monochromatic of everything with your bright lips. And the snow. The snow! It's just been gloomy and rainy here lately.

Lipstick looks great on you! Don't feel self conscious. Most people won't even point it out and you'll walk around all day feeling super cool and lipstick-y.
Also, these snowy pictures are amazingly pretty! I'm loving those boots you're wearing and the cute dotted pants.

Maggie! The lipstick is fantastic! Like seriously, you totally rock it. Uh American Horror Story... definitely just watched the entire first season in less than 24 hours. No big deal.

The cutest of cutie pies. I'm trying out lipstick for the first time, too, and am slowly becoming a little bit obsessed.

I *love* that lipstick on you! I was really nervous about trying out bright lipstick the first time I wore it, too, but now I practically can't leave the house without it! It's just so much fun! <3

Hope you're having a fun Christmas break! xo
