black roses red.

We all have our "human" days, do you agree? The days where everything is off and you aren't quite all connected to what's going around you. Where you have trouble making simple conversation with your best friends and you can't keep your mind in one place. The days when you question everything you're doing and every thought. At least, I have these days.
Today was one of those days. But if you ask me, we are all allowed those human days. They are exactly that! Your days where you don't have to be perfect because no one is. No one! They are the days that set things right again when they're over because when you wake up the next day, the world feels aligned again.
Anyways! I set a long "to-do" list that I posted on tumblr and actually accomplished a good portion even with my funky human day. And for possibly the first time in my life, I'm going to finish it! Which puts me in a fabulous mood. This list included working out, and I have to say, as much as I hate working out itself, it cures any ounce of stress! I'm kind of freaking about chemistry because I didn't do well on the small 5 point quizzes this week and our test is in two weeks...but! I'm feeling better.
I just heard Taylor Swift's new song on the VMA's....and it almost made me cry. I know everyone doubts her because all of her songs are "the same" and she's just like "any other blonde artist", but I am so, so in love with her song writing. If you look at her lyrics alone and focus less on the content but the poetry and way she rhymes within the songs and tells stories...ahh. It's genius. If you doubt Taylor, listen to "Mary's Song" and I guarantee your mind will be changed:) I could go on and on about my obsession...so I'll stop :)

College now feels like "home". I've got it figured out for the most part and I've been making so many friends! And I'm so excited to make more :) My roommate and I are best friends with a girl down the hall and we have a blast together. That girl I was talking about who is fashionable? Her and I are on the fast track to being friends :) We even have the same Nikon! And name! Yep. Exciting.
Alright! SO! Clothes time. This was part of a 5-shoot day with Niklaas. We walked through the alleys and happened to come across this adorable graffiti! I love the heart! I just took pictures today for the first time here in college, but it's for the swap so I can't post them till later :). So I'm still posting Niklaas' shoots. I am so proud of this skirt because I made it! Eeep! My dream is to be able to make my own clothes. I sketch dress ideas all the time (secretly) and would just die to make them for myself. These tights are brand new and I think they're my new favorite- the pattern is so cool! I am so excited to wear tights again!
I always feel like stripes makes everything so classy. And what's more classy than a black skirt and heels? I feel like as far as style goes I am so schizophrenic. I can be so girly with my florals at times, and then pull this out. My fedora is probably my favorite thing in my closet. I love it. And my mom's heels :) hehe!
Alright. I'm getting on track with the whole blogging every other day thing. This is my third of the week so I'm happy with myself! hehe!

More soon:)

Love,
Maggie

It's so wonderful that you can express that sort of day in words! I understand exactly (well, almost, anyhow) what you're talking about.

I'm glad that college is starting to feel more homey.

PS: You are absolutely beautiful! :)

I'm having one of those days today - very little is going right and I'm so tired and stressed out that I'm not coping very well with things.

But enough about me - I am SO impressed with the skirt! Did you make it from a pattern or a tutorial? It's so cute. Looks perfect with that gorgeous stripy skirt and the ever-cool hat :)

Haha, I feel like I'm having one of those days... my attention span is so short, but I can't bother to try to focus!

Anyway, I'm glad to hear you're enjoying college - I'm sure you'll do just fine in chem. Grades are important to some extent, but it's more about what you learn, no? :)

And your skirt - so cute! I love the buttons. I wish I had more motivation to sew/make clothes/do DIY projects... but I'm so lazy. Maybe I'll try to change that!

Hope all is well, xox.

Great that you're all settled in and enjoying your new life... I haven't been able to check out your blog for ages as it's blocked on my work computer and my home connection is really slow (I'm still waiting for it to hurry up and show your photos!) ... anyway looks like you're having fun!

Okay Maggey, I think I'm narrowing down my thoughts a bit on why I and [ everyone else] like[s] you so much.
Your style is cool.
But even apart from that, you're so unscripted. Just living life and having fun and telling us about it!
So good.
Kinda refreshing [from myself! ha ha].
Keep up the good work!

I wish I could make my own clothes, it's a secret dream of mine too! Except I can't draw in the least, I'm much better with words! You know my love for tights and I love yours of course.

Also: I have those days. I feel really disconnected from everyone, even my family. I feel like I don't belong in my own house and it's so weird! It only happens every so often but it makes me so frustrated and I'm just like ahh weird feeling go away. BUT STAY POSITIVE, MAGGIE DEAR. :D
