tickle me pink

Excuse me while I talk some more about how absolutely excited I am about how good of a blogger I've been! Hahaha. Seriously, I'm so proud of my every-other-day-posting. Okay, that's the very last time I'll ever mention it. Promise!
Have you ever had one of those moments where you start a post...and realize you have nothing of worth to say?? Yeah. I'm having one of those moments. OH! I know what I can discuss. I have surgery tomorrow!!! AHHHH. I'm seriously dreading it!! I have never had a cavity once in my life. I've never been seriously injured. I've never had blood work done. Nothing! I'm so scared. I have blog posts scheduled though, so you won't be completely without me :). I predict three-four days and I'll be back in the swing of things. So don't for a minute think I have forgotten to comment you all back:)
Speaking of which!! All of your comments have blown me away!!!! I can't thank you enough!! It's INSANE. I remember when I would go crazy about getting just three comments on a post, and now you guys are sending me ten times that amount plus some. Thank you so much. I love every word and I desperately try to get back to all of you. You guys rockkkk my socks! Truly. I started blogging because I was inspired by all of you, don't forget that!
So yesterday was complete madness. Niklaas and I did three photoshoots! I have about seven backed up now that I'm saving for fall!! Isn't that wonderful?? Haha. Although, I'm definitely going to be asking my roommate to take some now, I've decided. But still. The first month or so of college could be hectic. I'm so nervous!! I'm really nervous about the academic part. Ergh. Honors classes! Biology, chemistry, advanced english placement, photography, and psychology. Ahhhhh. I worked my butt off in high school (well, I procrastinated and slacked my butt off) enough to get honors...but we'll see.
This is one of the *three* photoshoots! I wore this dress to a garden party, which was perfect. I never ever wear pink though, so take note. Haha. Pastels totally say garden to me. It actually belongs to my friend who has an amazing wardrobe, so she deserves all the credit! One of me and Niklaas' "places" where we frequently go is this house. Everytime we go there, I'm sure he could tell you that I say I'm going to buy it someday about a thousand times. I just love it. It's so beautiful! And the fact that its abandoned only makes it even more gorgeous. One of these mornings we are going to go there for a morning shoot and picnic!
The best time to find tights, I've decided, is in the summer! I have stocked up on tights all summer long and now have over twenty five in my collection. I used to have 13. But several of them have runs so I can only wear about half of them. I got these tights for $5 from Urban as well as four others. They may be my new favorite! I love the stripes/lace all in one! I don't usually wear such pink/girly things (okay, maybe that's a lie), and sort of felt like I needed to ungirliefy them with tights
I added white shoes just to add some contrast. I stole them from my mom's closet, which I've frequently been doing lately. She's not all that into clothes, but she has some funky stuff from the 80s that I just adore. These shoes are so versatile!
And lastly, my fedora. I wear it too much, already, and I've had it for about a week. Ooops...hahaha :)
I just love Niklaas' photography lately. These pictures turned out so well! Seriously, I'm feel like the luckiest girl everrr to have him. Haha. And not just because he takes my pictures! He's great in general, of course. Like, listening to Taylor Swift's new song with me on repeat for an hour. Currently, our little town is absolutely enclosed in wheat fields like this. It's that time of year! I love the gold with the pink. So pretty! While taking these, we ran into three other photographers! It was insane. Never in the five-six times that we've been out to the house, have we even a soul, so it was strange. We also met the owner...it was awkward. Hahaha. Have you ever had weird picture-taking encounters with people? What we do for our blogs.
Anyways, scheduled posts for Friday and Monday! Surgery tomorrow....blah. I'm such a wuss.
(this is our house back in the early spring. Still green!)

love always,
Maggie

Thinking of you tomorrow.

Hope tomorrow goes as well as possible! And looking on the bright side, it's an excuse to eat an awful lot of icecream...

I genuinely think your photo locations get better and better. This one is just wonderful. The house reminds me of Wizard of Oz for some reason. The weatherbeaten colours and the wheat are a beautiful backdrop for a really pretty outfit.

maggie, you are absolutely stunning. i can't get over how beautiful these pictures came out with the gold contrasting the light pink ruffles on that dress. abandoned buildings always have their own sort of beauty. :)

good luck on your surgery tomorrow, everything will work out fine so don't worry yourself! <3

That's a good idea to buy tights in the summer (I'm a total tights fanatic, so it's useful to know). Also, good luck with your surgery, hang in there!

Holy awesome house! It looks like it has a great story as to why it is abandon.
I agree with you about wearing pink, there is maybe two whole pinks things in my wardrobe. I really like the detail on your dress though!

Weirdest thing that happens during photos? I often took them in my very open backyard and though our street never seems populated, it always gets busy when I'm out there. I have seen people literally crane their necks just to see what I'm doing. I have one photo of myself that has a truck with both passengers staring at me.
The best I can do is ignore them.
(I take mu pictures myself with a tripod, so I guess it looks strange.. not to me! :P lol)

Good luck with your surgery!

This dress is fabulous! And I just love the overall aesthetic of the photography. Don't freak yourself out too much about college, it realllyyyy isn't as bad as high school guidance counselors make it out to be =) what school are you going to?

1. Your outfit is adorable and ljfnlgnadjkgn at where you are shooting out! It totally reminds me of this movie called Days Of Heaven, check it out...the cinematography is breathtaking!

2. As someone who is just about done with college, all i have to say is that it's not bad at all! Sometimes its even easier than high school classes!

Good luck with surgery! I'm sure you'll be okay!

This whole photo shoot is absolutely lovely! The dress is just darling on you; I love the ruffle patterning at the top, and the way you added the hat and awesome tights! I'll definitely need to look into buying some cool patterned ones soon, myself.

The house and field are seriously beautiful! I love how the pink dress (the color of which looks GREAT on you) stands out in all of the pictures, but it's so subtle. What a perfect location for the outfit!

Maggie, this is my favorite post from you to date. The pictures are absolutely stunning -I could only dream to have a pretty field like that to shoot in. You did a wonderful job contrasting the dress with the wheat.

Do pass my compliments on to Niklaas!

You look Sooooo cute and pretty in this adorable little number!! and I just love the fedora--I need one of those myself!

that house--WOW--I so wish I could get some pics there too. I LOVE cool old abandoned houses! This one look PERFECT for a shoot I did awhile back where I was trying to simulate 'Christina's World' by Andrew Wyeth. Can I come shoot with ya sometime?? ;)
Have you been able to go inside this house? How fun it would be to explore!

damn! i forgot to comment on the college part. well, i say they're just like highschool classes, just longer. i'm in my junior year next month and i've got three biology classes. what i'm more worried about? the cost of books! not so much with the classes. i'm sure you can deal with them all.
