On the Tracks

<untitled> 5
Boy oh boy, does it feel like forever since I've done an outfit post! I have to tell you guys something, though... it's been really nice to just blog about whatever is on my mind instead of going through the tedious routine of putting on something I want to blog, finding the time to take pictures, edit them, finding the time to write a post and upload pictures, and then finally hit post. That being said, I think you can expect more outfit ones now that I've settled into a routine with school and without the pressure of getting them published at an exact minute on a precise day, it feels so much less like work and more like fun. Which is why we're here anyways, right!?!

School so far has been really, really great. It hasn't been easy between juggling school and adjusting to a new kind of relationship Niklaas and I aren't exactly used to (being in the same place, what!?) but I already feel so much better about this year than last. I've transitioned to a better studier this year and more of a "routine" girl than I ever wanted to be last year. My goal for this semester is to fit in gym time - at the end of last year, I was finally getting down a schedule and it just made life so much happier! I felt like I nailed school last semester so I'm focusing on that and getting some healthy endorphins in my system this semester!

The other day, Niklaas and I were driving around our quaint little big city of Missoula trying to find a place to take pictures. We found these train tracks that are not only super close to campus, but basically deserted. They're awesome. We have so far taken two sets of pictures here, so I think you'll be seeing them a lot. I got this lovely little dress at the Forever21 in Nevada. I couldn't believe how big it was- I'm used to a small inventory store 80 miles north of my hometown in Idaho, so being in a huge store was insane. I swore of Forever21, but finding this polka dot dress was too good to be true. I love the sleeves and the polka dots and the tie bow in the front and how it's elastic. It's so perfect!! I've worn it probably four or five times since I've bought it and for me, that is a lot of wears.

I loveee how these pictures turned out- Niklaas is taking his first ever photography class right now and he's in love with it. By the end of the semester, he will be able to develop his own film which is so cool! I can't wait for the many adventures we will have in Missoula over the course of this year- and to blog about all of them! Last year was amazing with my friends here, but I so missed escaping with Niklaas when we were apart for our little adventures!

Heh, I know what it's like getting used to your partner all over again. My boyfriend lives halfway across the country and until I can move out there next year, we only see each other for a few weeks every 8-9 months, which is pretty harsh.

Such a cute dress! Looks great on you. And these train tracks are an awesome photo location, I wish I had something like that near my apartment, but instead I live in a mildly seedy neighbourhood hah.

Good to hear you've got a solid plan for your life the next while. It's always good to know what you want and what you are going to do to get it.

Oh my goodness, firstly this outfit is SO adorable. I'm such a sucker for a great dress & an adorable hat. LOVE! And these photos are beautiful, how exciting that Niklaas is taking a photo class, totally lucky for you. ;-)

Also, really great to hear that you are finding the fun in your outfit photos again, it's so true that we can loose sight of that... and end up feeling pressured to shoot, post, and style outfits! Best of luck with school & hope your week is a fantastic one. xo veronika

So glad to hear that you are adjusting well to the new school year and having Niklaas around! I can't wait to read about all the adventures you two go on! I'm excited! Loving this outfit. Can't believe that dress is from F21! I've been going strong with my F21-ban, but if they keep making these kinds of pieces, I just might have to go back to them! Eep! Also, love the photo location! So jealous that this is so accessible for you!

In love with your hat. I am a hat person, even though I don't have a very good hat head. I can pull off the newsboy hat and fedoras, but that's it. I look weird in anything else. So I have a weird hat head. But you look awesome in hats.

polka dots are so cute. and you look so cute. <3 those shoes are a great addition!

and i'm going to try to change my blog more into what i want to post and when i have time to post vs. a set schedule... sometimes schedules are good for me, cuz then i actually get stuff done... but sometimes it takes the fun out of it and makes it a chore.

thanks for replying to my email so quick, too! i'm going to reply asap (hopefully tonight/tomorrow)

He is already SO GOOD:) Gosh boyfriends who are photographers must be the best huh??? I should really use your tactic on the whole blogging. Sometimes I have days where id love to blog about just what is on my mind, but then i think well what if my readers dont respond to it well?? I will try it soon sometime tho!

I love reading your random stories just as much as your outfit posts! Glad you're getting into the swing of school. It's sort of a weird adjustment to go from long distance to being together all the time! My boyfriend and I did the same thing but we were long distance two years and unfortunately might have to do it again. Niklaas is already great at taking your outfit shots so I'm sure you're going to have really neat things to share with us soon.

Seriously some of the best photos I've ever seen on your blog, Maggie! I love the softness and romantic feeling of them...the blurred backrounds, your beautiful face, and the nostalgic railroads are the perfect combination! I adore you blog not only for the cute outfits, but always hearing about your day to day life. Keep up the always lovely work! <3

Yay, another outfit post. <3
You look cute, girl. You also look happy and you're glowing! Probably because of Niklaas. Am I right? :)

That dress is a steal. Forever 21 is one of my favorite stores. They have so many here in LA and there's a big store near where I live.

This location you discovered is perfect! I lovelovelove train tracks. I live near one too, but sadly it's being used. It's okay though. I still take pictures in it haha.

Btw, I'm happy Niklaas is now there with you. What school did he used to go to before he went there?

I love that polka dot dress so much! Very cute! You can find a lot of cute things in Forever 21 if you dig through everything. I like to go there with a thrift store mentality.

Also, these pictures look great!
