Feels Like Spring

DSC_0936
Onions. Onions. Onions. I spent four hours at work today scrubbing rotten onion residue off of 50 onion crates. Have you ever smelled rotten onions? Or...rotten onion week old juice? My sense of smell is completely shot and onions are all I can smell and taste. I guess I better get used to it considering I have three and a half months left and onions will be my mantra until August 28th. Woot.

So, lately I've toyed with the idea of making some sort of blog shop. I know a lot of people have them, but I really don't know how effective bloggers are in selling their old clothes nor how much interest there would be. And then there's the "how". Do I make a separate "blog"? A separate "page" on my blog? A "tumblr" shop? I only intend on selling items that I have showed on my blog because I only want to sell things that I would continue to wear. I wear a S-M and most of my clothes only get worn a few times (thus, blog shop!). Anyways, if you have any comments/feedback/interest, please, please, please let me know!

I've been grumpy and entirely pathetic these three days of summer. The last two weeks have killed me. Between finals, flying home for prom in a whirlwind trip, soccer tournaments, packing, and studying, I have reached my max. I still haven't unpacked and I have four suitcases on my bedroom floor littered with clothes thrown to and fro. It's bad. I've basically been going to work, watching Netflix, driving my sister to where she needs to go, and doing her homework. Somehow, I'm still pretty busy following my sister's schedule and I really just need a solid weekend of nothing!

I got this top from Forever21 for Christmas and I love that I'm still wearing it in the spring! I need to love these shorts more- they're so perfect and comfortable and match everything! I'm loving the break from bad weather to go tights free. I love my tights, but there's only so much I can handle. One of my favorite things is exploring my moms closet and finding old shoes. None of them are fancy, per say, but simple black heels? Score! I added socks and voila!

Have a wonderful Thursday!

Wow, your job sounds really unpleasant but hopefully you're getting paid! I saw that top at F21 a while back and really wanted to get it and I'd love to see you open a blog shop!

Blog shop-- do it do it do it.
I just made a separate page for mine, but I think that the separate blogs actually do better.

And ugh-- onions. I used to work at a small restaurant where I was in charge of cooking the food, serving it, scrubbing onions (it was tiiiny), so I can relate.

I cringed. Onions.

Anyhow, I feel like I'm jumping about in this conversation, but just know that I adore you. MAKE time to do absolutely nothing. :)

Wow, 4 hours scrubbing Onions???? That doesn't sound very sanitary. I hope you get used to it, though. I don't particularly like the smell of raw onions, but they don't make me cry like it does to many people.

A blog shop sounds awesome. I think a separate page/tab would be the best idea for now. Maybe you can switch to a larger version, like an etsy or separate blog when your shop grows in size.

Ugh, I don't like the smell of just onions, never mind rotten onions. :P
Cute outfit! It's great that you're getting so much use out of that top, too. :D

onion juice cannot be a pleasant smell. I once had to clean up wicked old potatoes that had started to squeeze out juice, it still haunts me

Love the outfit! Black shorts are an instant classic. And those bow ties are just adorable!

I hate onions! Yuck. The taste, smell...ewww. Good luck though!

I like blog shops that have a link on the page. Perhaps, the shop can be on etsy? And I would buy your clothes! :)

I absolutely love onions (they tie with potatoes in my favourite vegetable category) but dearie me, 4 hours of scrubbing manky onion boxes? Even I couldn't cope with that!

How lucky you are that you have the same size feet as your mum. I went shoe shopping with mine after work today and she bought the most beautiful pair of suede heels but I can't quite squeeze my giant feet into them :(

Well.... spending multiple hours scrubbing rotten onion residue does not exactly sound like the best job in the world... haha. But maybe soon enough you'll be so used to the smell that you won't smell it at all anymore! At least, one can hope... right? :P

There are quite a few blog shops filled with such fantastic clothes that I wish I could buy, but I don't think I've actually ever bought clothes online without trying them on first. It's definitely something to consider though!

Hey, it's summer. Take as long as you need to relax after the hellish last few weeks you've had to endure! Sometimes doing nothing is the perfect solution.

gag me now. pretty sure i would have thrown up had i been given that job. the smell of onions is death to me.

GROSS. That sounds terrible. You should quit. ha ;)

You should have a week of nothing... in fact, we all should. Good idea. Hahaa

Love the top! No wonder you like it so much..(:

Well, I hope your smell will be fine. Maybe smelling coffee bean will cure the 'onion smell' xp

I love the idea of opening blog shop. Maybe you could do it in separate blog and promote it in this blog. I see many bloggers do this way.

Oh, thank you for your sweet comment. I'm so glad that you like the before-after(:

Cheers,

pretty pictures! i love your F21 top! it's a great piece for any season! and i think the blog shop is a great idea. i've bought a couple of pieces from other bloggers, and i love them. i think it's great to buy clothes that you've seen modeled on a "real" person, whose sense of style and body shape are similar to yours. Xx

onions?! ahh does not sound too pleasant. i guess a job is a job :(

and i think a blog shop is worth a try! lots of people just create a separate blog with 'shop' in front of their blog name :)

Aww, I'm sorry your job is smelly! But when you get your paycheck it'll all be worth it :)
This is such a cute look. I'm always looking for inspiration for how to style shorts since they're such an enigma to me, so thanks! Also, your shirt is SO CUTE!

Shy said...

I like the idea of a blog shop but no one seems to be a size 10 - 12 like me so I never seem to find anything that would actually fit me :(

I also LOOOOOVE your socks and shorts! How cute is that. And I so hope I can head down to sandpoint this year.... I just love it there and we could meet up!! :D

Ew. Onions make me barf. I hope you are getting paid well enough to make it somewhat bearable.
I am in love with this outfit. You look so cute and innocent and sweet and adorable and pretty and lovely.
Those are a LOT of adjectives, but they all describe you perfectly.
The end.

Speaking of onions, have you ever read Holes by Louis Sachar? It is one of the most amazing books I have ever read and it will definitely help you appreciate onions! (although I hope you're getting paid well too!)

this outfit reminded me so much of Tieka! I don't know... I just saw it and wow! It's good to be home, right? Ah, it feels amazing! I love the outfit you created here... I mean it's beautiful. And about the blog shop, I think you'll do great because you have amazing clothes (I should know :P)... I would buy them if I had the money, but many others would definitely think the same :D

Catherine said...

Damn, onions! Sorry to hear that :( haha anyway, I definitely agree with Alex... this is so something Tieka would wear!

I hope all is well and the weather continues its niceness.

Aww hope you get used to the onion smell and they don't bug you as much anymore. After finals--all I want is a week of nothing too, but with working everyday, it doesn't even feel like summer. Blahh. This outfit is lovely! I have yet to try the socks with shoes look, but I love it on you! And look! It's the bows we both have! Yay!
